This is what we woke up to this morning, about a month early. Thankfully it did not stick and melted off before Noon. It even got nice enough out for a friend and class mate of Hawken's B-day party at the playground (they had a back up location for rain but the sun came out a little before "party time", it was perfect, photos of party to follow soon). Winter can really sneak up on you up here and came early last year too.
The story of raising two little men like wolves in the wilds of Alaska. From our house in the woods with a garden, a berry patch, 2 dogs and a cat. Life as a mom and artist is never dull here in Talkeetna. Stay tuned to hear more about our adventures and wildlife stories as they unfold....

Fall on the bike path...
Fall is short here in Alaska, you have to try and enjoy it while you can. This is a little stretch of our local bike path one morning last week.
Luna
Luna had an abscess and had to have a little surgery. She is fine now and her hair is growing back...

at the open air market
The season is over at the Open Air Market. It was a great summer and I hope to be there again next year. We had lots of laughs and met lots of tourists from all over the world... My friend Grete took this photo of me goofing around on her phone. Town is getting quieter by the day and the flood waters are receding. We didn't have any trouble at our house but anyone close to the river did. Downtown was evacuated last Friday and many basements and yards have river water in them. Think "sunny" thoughts!

Bedroom Sign
I guess it's the age?! It reads: Art Room Do Not Enter! Jaxon Only (Sometimes Hawken).
Gotta Love it...

Good times, Happy B-day Jax
I didn't mean to dress them alike, it just happened. Jax dresses himself, and they both love their "Cougar" hats from Me-ma. So add in that they both had blue pants, gray sweatshirts and rain boots on it was just funny. We were already at the fair when I noticed it. No rain, just a little wind that day. We got lucky. Hawken was too short to stick his head in the right hole of this "Earth Keeper" cut out. Funny...
more fun at the fair...
I took a lot of photos that day and some cute video clips. Jax said it was the best b-day ever! It was also a nice family day for us. Just the 4 of us...
