Winter is near...

There's a chill in the air. It's fall here at our house but not for long, soon it will be Winter and all will be white... This week brought an earthquake of 5.4, high winds that knocked ours and thousands of other Alaskans power out for the last 3 days as well as that tall dark green spruce tree in the middle of our yard that came down in the wind storm. It's calm now but getting into the 20's at night and "they" are calling for possible snow this week in our area, Anchorage had flurries over the weekend already. All part of living in Alaska, be ready for anything...

It's the end of the season...

Well we closed up shop this week, the season is over. The little outdoor store built around a tree was good to us this summer and we'll be back next year... My space was getting pretty empty anyway and what I had left in baby T's went to Dos Manos Gallery on N. Lights Blvd. in Anchorage. Talkeetna is quiet again. Fall is here and winter just around the corner, at least the sun finally came around! Better late than never...

Bears

Here is one of Tamra's shots of that mama grizzly we had in our yard a few weeks ago. She's standing up in the bushes in this photo. The 2 cubs were still sitting under our tree and we were out on the deck taking pictures and then watching them from in the house for awhile.

Rock Art

My friend Nancy gave the boys some chalk to keep them busy one night and asked them to help decorate Tortilla Mountain (mex food and yummy burritos in downtown Talkeetna...) with colorful rocks. So they did...
