soggy picnic
It would be a soggy picnic at this table submerged in Trillium Lake on Mt. Hood. Jax found it on out hike yesterday and wanted me to take his picture with it... So of course I did, and Hawken's and a solo shot, why not?
Exploring...
that is what we have been doing, among other things. Yesterday's adventure was up the mountain to Trillium Lake. Although I did go to 4th grade here in Welches (much of which I don't remember) exploring my home state with the boys & Andy will be awesome. I know a lot of cool spots in this great state being born and raised in Oregon but the ones here at Mt. Hood are new to me too so the exploring is a fresh adventure for us all. We are surrounded by Mt. Hood Natl. Forest here and there is no end to the lakes, rivers and mountain trails. Here is yesterday's hike:

At Home In Oregon
Sorry, I have been so busy getting settled back in my home state of Oregon and I haven't been blogging. Just got back online and into our house so we'll catch up soon... The sun is out and we are surrounded by the Mt. Hood Natl. Forest on all sides here the hiking trail go forever and we are loving exploring them. Off to another I'll try to get some photos. I did start an Instagram page but don't know how to link it to the blog just yet. Feel free to look it up at owlhousebatik

Traveling
As many of you know (and some probably don't) we just relocated to OREGON, my home state. It's been a long week of travel on the ferry out of Alaska and down to the Portland area where I have family. Some exciting things are going on for us and making them happen is keeping us pretty busy. I will be catching you all up to those things soon. But for now here are a few photos of our travels. These are in Homer, where we got on the ferry and stayed a night at our friends place in this awesome yurt...

Friends
Zeta & Hawken are the same age and have known each other since they were born. She requested a photo with him at the Farm Party last night. Zeta loves to try and keep up with my boys, it's super cute to watch. She's very articulate for 5 and sounds so grown up sometimes. We are good friends with her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It's a big family and they all live up here. This is the group of people we will miss most... Our Alaska Family.

Hurricane Gulch Train Trip
Today I took the boys on the train! There is a day trip up to Hurricane Gulch. They did great, it was beautiful out and they each won a real Golden Train Spike (painted gold and used at the end of a new rail line to celebrate it's finish) and a star pin from the conductor for being so good... I also got compliments from the New York tourists across the aisle from us who have seen many children on their travels but none as well behaved as ours. Good job boys. While we passed the time Jax schooled me in "Go-Fish" several times.
